Think you're having a hard time wrapping your mind around the thought of American Idol without kingpin of reality Simon Cowell? You may not have many other options. According to an article posted in UK’s the Mirror, Cowell is said to be strongly considering parting ways with the wildly popular Fox reality show. The culprit of his unease seems to be Simon’s hectic globe trotting schedule that can have him bouncing between the US and Britian as much as four flights per week.
"Most people do one show a year and I do three and they involve a lot of traveling. One may have to go," Cowell tells UK’s The Mirror. "I don't know which one. That is the problem, I like all of them. I can't imagine not doing 'Britain's Got Talent' and I can't imagine not doing 'X Factor.' But I guess America is more likely to go because I have got one year under contract. Maybe that will be the end."
All the trans-Atlantic flights seem to be taking their toll on the workaholic judge. Cowell still has another year under contract with American Idol so there are no immediate worries of him being replaced by the likes of Carrot Top, but the possibility remains on the horizon.
There is also some chatter that Cowell may be looking for an escape hatch so he might import the huge UK sensation X-Factor stateside. There has been interest shown by rival US networks at hosting the new TV show, but much of this speculation will remain veiled in secrecy until he decides if he will stay or if he will go. Simon’s personal life may be an unconscious factor as well.
Simon Cowell has recently found himself among the ranks of the single, following a split with long-time girlfriend Terri Seymour. While he says there is no shortage of ladies to fill out his dance card, that pesky schedule is keeping any potential for new love at arm’s length.
